In 1969 the Berkeley free clinic was found as a “Street Medicine” clinic. It quickly found a niche and permanent home in the Berkeley Community. Berkeley free clinic is an icon in the area. In its 50 year history has served thousands of people in various ways.
There has never been a fee for any services, materials, drugs or supplies provided at the Berkeley Free Clinic. They generated income solely through individual or organization grants and government programs.
Increasing self-knowledge and increasing awareness of appropriate sources infuse all of their dental, medical, counseling and referral services. Direct services are provided almost exclusively by volunteer healthcare staff. All volunteers receive extensive and specific training in the classroom and clinical setting.
This Clinic treats each and every client with respect and dignity. Their needs in the larger context of access to their unique circumstances and resources. They strive to include clients as thoroughly as possible in their healthcare process,

They do not require payment or documentation for any of their services.
Acute Medical Care
Berkeley free clinic offers limited acute medical care. The service is provided by the Volunteer lay health worker. The volunteer is trained by the Clinic medical professional.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday-7 pm to 9 pm. Same day appointment only. Call at 5:45 to schedule appointments only. For visit no documentation required.
They also provide Drop-ins shot for Flu (Monday, Wednesday &Friday evening 7 to 9 pm) and 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7 to 9 pm. They have limited capacity per night. For information, you can call them- 510 548 2570.
Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
They also provide a TB Skin test. It is also known as the PPD test. Monday, Wednesday and Friday-7 pm to 9 pm, 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 7 pm to 9 pm. Same day appointment only.
Call at 5:45 to schedule appointments only. No documentation required for visit.
This clinic also offers TB testing on Saturdays from 1 pm to 4 pm, Same day appointment only. You can call at noon to schedule an appointment for Saturday.

STI + HIV testing, Treatment & Linkage
The Berkeley free clinic provides free treatment, testing, and linkage for sexually transmitted infections including Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis and human immunodeficiency virus.

Hepatitis Testing + Counseling
Berkeley free clinic offers a free consultation and testing for Hepatitis A, B and C and also vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B along with Flu vaccine.
Call 12 pm Saturday to schedule a same day appointment. Between 1 pm to 4 pm appointment will be scheduled.

Acute Urogenital and Gynecological care
Every Saturday the department provides UTI treatment and acute gynecological and urogenital services for anyone who is not a cis-gender male. Trans clients and cis women time Saturday 11 am to 2 pm.
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm UTIs can also be treated. For an appointment call at 5:45.

Peer Counseling
The Berkeley free clinic offers free confidential peer counseling for individuals.
Monday to Friday– 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm
Saturday– 12 pm to 2:30 pm
For trans clients and cis women only.
Trans Health
Trans and gender non conforming people are seen any day of the week for any services. Pelvic exam only provided on Saturday at 11 am.
Berkeley Free Clinic Eyeglasses and Vision Screening
The mindful eye foundation offers free eyeglasses and vision screenings to eligible individuals. Every month 2nd and 4th Wednesday- 5:30 pm to 7 pm.
