In 1942 the Wheaton eye clinic was started by Dr. P.K. Gieser. Dr. Gieser used equipment and rental space in a Dentist reception room. After a few days when the patient’s needs grow. A contact lens specialist was hired. After someday a second full-time ophthalmologist joined the practice.
Wheaton eye clinic eagerly took two significant strides in the 1970s, to recognize optical sub-specialties and the introduction of laser surgery. Several ophthalmologists joined the staff and this clinic first introduce the lasers of eye surgery.
The current Wheaton location is triple the size of the previous clinic building. Today it houses doctors in all ophthalmology subspecialists and serves as the center of three other clinics, as well as the Dupage Eye surgery center.
The vision of Dr. Gieser’s world-class eye clinic is now a reality. This clinic provides the best treatment to patients from Chicago and Midwest as well as throughout the united states and many foreign countries. This clinic doctors also travel the world teaching and providing compassionate eye care.
