On January 1, 1982, the Yankton Medical clinic was first open as a result of a merger between the Yankton Clinic and the Medical Clinic. The Yankton Clinic was started in 1946 when the Late Dr. C.B. McVay and the late F.J.Abts had a treatment practice. After one year in 1947, they add Dr. T.H. Sattler and Dr. Brooks Ranney. The group continued to add new physicians and in 1966 was forced to expand the facility. It concluded that integrating the medical clinic was the solution to their development.
In 1946 the medical clinic location is 314 Walnut and later it moved to the 109 East 3rd Street. In 1948 the late Dr. Clark Johnson join the group, the late Dr. Melford Lyso Join the group in 1952. It became clear that a new building was necessary and in 1967 the medical clinic was relocated to 1104 west 8th street.
Today Yankton Medical clinic is a multispecialty clinic. This clinic has 43 physicians covering 17 specialties, more than 220 employees. This clinic has 4 clinic locations and 15 outreach locations in Nebraska and south Dakota.
