Ireland

In Ireland, Halloween is a big celebration.

It is said that Halloween was originally celebrated in Ireland, and after that, other countries adopted this custom.

Each year, different places in Ireland, such as Dublin, Galway, and others, host the Samiha Parade.

It is mainly celebrated from the end of October to the beginning of November.

On this Day, people from all over Ireland celebrate the Day with delicious food and follow different traditions and rituals.

In some places, mashed potato with cabbage, also known as Colcannon, then Barmbrack, cake, or bread filled with dried fruits, are the traditional foods eaten on Halloween.

Also, Scotland celebrates Samhain as well, whereas, similar to Ireland, they believe that for one night, the spirits and the soul of the dead come to the physical world.

And in Scotland, to celebrate the people eat meat, sausage rolls, etc., and enjoy the fireworks.

 

 

Costa Rica 

In Costa Rica, on the 31st of October, they celebrate Halloween in their way.

There, Halloween is known as Dia de la Mascarada. On this Day, the whole country dances and plays folk music.

It’s the Day they don’t particularly celebrate the dead but enjoy it as a festival.

The kids, as well as the adults, make creative paper masks on this Day.

The paper masks are not ordinary ones.

They are made creatively based on mythology, pop culture, or any other theme they prefer.

After that, the groups play music and wear masks on the parade.

It’s fun for both the kids and adults; besides that, like American Halloween, no specific costumes are included. 

 

México

In Mexico, Día de Los Muertos youth celebration has a great emotional connection with all family members.

The ‘Day of the Dead’ celebration mainly happens on November 1 and 2. 

The family’s parents dressed like skeletons in beautiful costumes on this Day.

Decorate the whole house with flowers, sweets, and food; it’s a method for family members to respect the family’s ancestors.

Everyone believes that on the Day of Mexican Halloween, the spirits of the dead come to the world of living to spend a day with the family.

The families decorate the grave with flowers and candles at the cemetery and bring delicious food and beverages to offer the spirit a feast.

And it is said to be a picnic among the family members. 

Besides Mexico, the celebration of Día de Los Muertos, or ‘Day of the Dead,’ happens in many places in Spain and Latin America.

Like Mexico, they decorate the Graves house and celebrate the Day with food.

 

Japan

Halloween in Japan is a big deal as It’s a huge chance for cosplay.

People from all over the world already know how much people from Japan are into cosplay and trying fancy costumes.

Some Kids follow the American tradition and do things like trick or treating. 

But most of the people from Japan gather in trains as it became the core point of celebrating Halloween.

Also, they celebrate Halloween at public locations, plan flash mobs, etc.

But the most interesting Halloween celebration in Japan is the Kawasaki Halloween parade.

It’s a prestigious event where thousands of people come and celebrate Halloween wearing their cosplay attire.

 

France 

In France, there is no official holiday for Halloween.

And also out there, it’s not that celebrated as well.

There are groups of people who celebrate the American Halloween traditions in their own way.

However, France has no specific Halloween traditions or rituals to celebrate the Day.

However, those who believe in the spirit world celebrate the 31st of October as ‘All Saint’s Day,’ where they bring flowers and food to the grave of their deceased ancestors.

Also, wearing Halloween costumes is not a thing in France.
